So all is well back in York Springs, PA. Mom still has some stomach issues, but she'll be fine soon. Dad is on his way back home from the hospital. He will have to follow a restricted diet (very restricted for a few months) but should recover completely. I will drive back to Pittsburgh in about 20 minutes and should have plenty of time to get ready for class tonight.
Devin and I are going to get our repertoire for the May concert finalized in the next two weeks. We plan to start rehearsing by the end of March, so that we can have a full month of preparation time. It's going to be a good one people, lets see your support!

It's been a busy two days.
So yesterday I learn that my father has been admitted to the Gettysburg hospital with some kind of infection. My mother doesn't really explain it too well, but she doesn't sound that good. Understandably, she is kind of stressed out about my dad having to be in the hospital. Long story short, I hop in my car and book it back east to York Springs, where I find that my mother is suffering from a case of stress-related GI problems. She'll be fine once dad is back from the hospital.
Spent time with dad at the hospital today. He's suffering from a case of diverticulitus and an infection in his colon. Not too much fun, although it was close to being a surgical case. They are treating with antiobiotics on his IV. The doc stopped by his room while I was over there and said they wanted to keep him for one more day, so he'll be at the hospital until at least tomorrow morning. =/ He's doing okay...mainly he's bored from being in the hospital. He doesn't have anybody else in his room, which is good, since he doesn't particularly enjoy the company of strangers - especially when he is not feeling well. There is still some amount of tenderness localized in his lower abdomen, but the pain is bearable, which is an improvement over the other day. I'm thinking that I should stay for one more night to keep my mother company. I was only going to work a half-day tomorrow anyhow, so I only have to take an additional 4 hours of leave.
So...how are you doing, my friends? I fully plan on being in town tomorrow evening to teach Korean, so if you haven't studied, don't think you are getting off!
Until next time... | | | |
| What I'll give you since you've asked, is all my time together. Take the rugged sunny days, the warm and rocky weather. Take the roads that I have walked along, looking for tomorrow's time. Peace of mind.
As my life spills into yours, changing with the hours. Filling up the world with time, turning time to flowers. I can show you all the songs that I never sang to one man, before.
We have seen a million stones lying by the water. You have climbed the hills with me to the mountain shelter. Taking off the days one by one, setting them to breathe in the sun.
Take the lilies and the lakes, from the days of childhood. All the willow-winding paths, leading up and outward. This is what I give, this is what I ask you for, nothing more
| The father of hapkido in America, Grandmaster Han passed away yesterday after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Master Ameris told me the news when I walked into the dojang this evening.
Remember that your heroes, the ones your respect, the people you love, will not be here forever. Thank God for each relationship you are able to enjoy, each person you are privileged to know, all those who somehow touch your life.
I don't know about Grandmaster Han's faith or lack of faith. Pray for the ones you love, that when their time does come, they will pass from this momentary existence into the presence of God through the blood of the Savior, Jesus Christ, who is to be forever praised. No one can be argued into a relationship with God, but only the Spirit of God who is at work in us, can change men's hearts. There are so many who are without God in the world, and my prayer for them is that they would receive the love of God given to us in His Son.
God Bless. | | |
